Kyocera’s KM-8030 segment-five multifunctional product (MFP) achieved outstanding results in the Extended-Term Reliability Test administered by Buyer’s Laboratory, Inc. (BLI), a leading source for unbiased and reliable intelligence for the imaging industry. In this evaluation, the KM-8030 completed 2,000,000 impressions in a simulated workplace environment; validating Kyocera’s ability to offer highly reliable, long-term document imaging solutions for both the small-to-medium business (SMB) and enterprise markets.
The rigorous BLI evaluation was conducted over a 100 day period,
in which 20,000 print impressions were typically made per day for a single machine.
To accurately emulate a real-world office, the KM-8030 was subjected to a variety
of print and copy jobs on various sized paper, processing short, medium and
long runs in simplex and duplex modes, with intermittent on/off cycles throughout
each simulated work day.
"Few MFP manufacturers have subjected their products to this degree of
independent lab testing, which really says something about Kyocera’s confidence
in its products," said Daria Hoffman, managing editor, Buyers Laboratory,
Inc. "Whereas BLI's normal reliability test is conducted using an output
volume equivalent to the unit’s manufacturer’s maximum monthly duty
cycle, this unit was subjected to a test that was twice as long and yet gave
a reliability performance that was virtually flawless – a truly impressive
feat."
